Training in the UK
Lake District
One of the best places in UK to experience hill walking and camping.
The weather in the Lake District on some days can be as good or bad
as being 12000 feet high in the tropics.

In
June 2006, over 30 people participated in the Yorkshire Three Peaks training, all completed it successfully as weather conditions were good and most of Kilimajaro participants were present.
We decided to run this training event again in May 2007. This time 114 people participated in the walk which involved three peaks with a total climb of 5000 feet and covered a distance of 24.5 miles. Participants could choose to walk one or two peaks if they wished and this trip is an excellent training opportunity to prepare for long summit days on trips such as Kilimanjaro or the Himalayas.
The weather conditions were severe and testing on the day and only 14 completed the full walk. A further 33 people completed two peaks (18 miles), whilst the rest walked one peak (9 miles).
